Without Exception Films (WXF), a women-led production company based in Los Angeles, is making waves in the documentary world by shining a light on some of the most pressing social justice issues of our time. At the helm of WXF, founder Charlotte Lubert and Producer Milena Warns have built a women-led powerhouse, dedicated to creating films/series that inspire change. WXF focuses on documentaries that elevate untold stories, especially those involving women and vulnerable communities.

Charlotte Lubert, an entrepreneur, producer, and philanthropist, leads with a deep passion for advocacy. “Our mission is to elevate stories, bringing hope and solutions to the forefront of global conversations. Without Exception Films is committed to using storytelling as a catalyst for real, measurable change,” she says.

Milena Warns, a producer with over two decades of experience in nonprofit advocacy, adds, “At Without Exception Films, we believe in the power of community. Every story we tell is an opportunity to build connections and spark action for a better, more equitable world.”

The company’s current projects, UNMUTED and Stolen Sisters, embody their commitment to tackling urgent social issues. UNMUTED, a three-part docuseries, confronts gender-based violence through the stories of survivors and the organizations fighting protection and policy change. Meanwhile, Stolen Sisters, directed by Valerie Red-Horse Mohl (Cherokee) and produced by Dawn Jackson (Saginaw Chippewa) of Red-Horse Native Productions who have partnered with WXF, sheds light on the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG) crisis, a largely overlooked human rights issue.

Both projects have been selected as commitment makers for the 2024 Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) Annual Meeting. These two projects represent the company’s dedication to advocacy and awareness campaigns focused on women and girls’ equality. Through educational screenings, actionable toolkits, and comprehensive social media campaigns, the projects aim to drive awareness and meaningful policy change, engaging both communities and policymakers to inspire lasting solutions to critical social issues.

“We aim to shine a light on the systemic issues that have kept Indigenous women’s stories in the shadows for far too long. Stolen Sisters is a call to action to address this invisible crisis,” says Valerie Red-Horse Mohl (Cherokee).

Without Exception Films is more than just a production company; it’s a force for social change, combining impactful storytelling with deep compassion for the subjects they cover. With multiple projects in development, WXF continues to grow its portfolio while maintaining its dedication to social advocacy.
