Highlighting their pickling prowess,  Piccalilli in Culver City launched a temporary virtual culinary pop-up concept the week, The Banh Mi Shop, offering sandwich assortments that include crispy pork belly, lemongrass BBQ chicken, crispy tofu and fried egg.  Click here for the full menu.

 Oste, the new Roman-style pinseria and osteria in Beverly Grove, opens for delivery and takeout on Wednesday, January 13. The restaurant will launch with a limited menu of pinsa made by Alessandro Iacobelli paired with an Italian wine program curated by sommelier Tiffany Bulow, most recently of Otium. Once Los Angeles restaurants are permitted to reopen for dine-in service, Oste will launch its full menu with traditional Italian dishes. All  wine bottles are currently 40% off.

The opening menu includes classics like a margherita with San Marzano tomatoes, fior di latte, basil and extra virgin olive oil, the marinara with San Marzano tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, oregano and garlic, as well as wild mushroom with scamorza cheese, garlic and truffle oil. The carbonara combines guanciale, egg, bacon, pecorino Romano and black pepper.

Just in time for National Sunday Supper Day on January 10, A.O.C. has launched their new winter menu for takeout and delivery which includes Westholme wagyu beef cheeks, potato purée, sautéed greens and horseradish cream as well as prawns, cornbread pudding, tomato, capers and castelvetrano olives. Prix fixe dinners at $45 per person also include choices of salumi plates, soft polenta, wild mushrooms, mascarpone, gremolata and Swiss chard, market fish and an assortment of desserts like butterscotch pot de crème with fresh whipped cream.

 Pigeon, a wok cart pop-up featuring Asian street food, will be rolling up to Hermanito in Sawtelle all Saturdays and Sundays in January from 12 – 8 p.m. beginning this Saturday, January 9. Stir fries include kimchi chorizo fried rice, chicken karaage and a carne asada chow fun with carne asada beef, rice noodles, bok choy, pickled onion and crispy shallot. Sides include spicy fried potatoes and pozole potstickers.
