Renowned entrepreneur and the founder of Storm Ventures Group, Anthony Delmedico, has announced this year’s Win The Storm Conference and Tradeshow Expo for general contracting, roofing, restoration, and solar companies worldwide. The three-day event, which starts on March 15 and ends on March 17, will be held at Broward County Convention Center, Fort Lauderdale, bringing together industry experts.

Win The Storm Conference and Tradeshow Expo will start with a parade on the 15th (9.00 am) recognizing Hurricane Ian’s first responders. The conference will feature over 100 industry-specific breakout sessions, evening receptions, awards night, an entire tradeshow expo floor full of leading industry vendors and suppliers, and a live Q&A session where entrepreneurs will get a chance to ask questions concerning the restoration industry and how to overcome the challenges in the industry to achieve success. Some of the speakers include Michael Graziano, Doug Quinn, and Melanie Griffin.

According to Delmedico, the restoration industry is one of the most lucrative sectors. Yet it is highly underutilized. Many entrepreneurs and contractors still don’t know what strategies, systems, or tools they can use to scale in the industry. The public also doesn’t know what to do. This inspired Delmedico to start the Win The Storm Conference and Tradeshow Expo.

The conference covers more about the $100B restoration industry and how to win in the space. The attendees gain education, insights on new technology, and valuable tactics they can use to recover after large storms and other catastrophic events.

In 2021 alone, nearly 15 million homes across the country were ravaged due to natural disasters, including hurricanes, tornadoes, and wildfires. Restoring these homes is challenging as some have to be demolished and others need extensive repairs, which in some cases may take even months, considering the labor shortage. The construction and restoration industry is currently facing an extreme lack of labor and training.

As per the Associated Builders and Contractors’ model, the construction and restoration industry will need nearly 650,000 additional workers on top of the existing and new entrants to effectively meet the demand for labor. But achieving this is going to be difficult. Anthony Delmedico is using technology to create a solution for the labor shortage as he shows contractors how they can scale their ventures. Storm Ventures Group(SVG) has developed different tools and systems, including the SVG University Virtual Reality Goggles, launched a few years ago.

The goggles provide a 360-degree virtual reality environment meant to make training easier. They come packed with the SVG U VR Training App, a VR Training Room, and several other VR industry-specific courses to help contractors recruit, onboard, and train employees.

SVG University (SVG U) also offers educational content. They have industry-specific training videos with courses, chapters, and testing to help contractors scale.

“The idea was that contractors could get access to this information easily and quickly- learn new strategies that would help them achieve take advantage of the many opportunities in the restoration industry. They can also train no matter the weather. With VR glasses, they can train indoors, potentially saving hundreds of hours,” Anthony says.
