The L.A. Daily News reports this morning that the iconic Wilshire Theater will be rebranded as the Saban Theater, in honor of a $5 million donation given to the Beverly Hills Performing Arts Center by philanthropists Haim and Cheryl Saban. The theater, built in 1930 for live performances and film presentations, is undergoing a multimillion-dollar renovation supervised by the performing arts center. Hopefully heavy metal bands won't ever play the venue, for we can imagine certain kinds of advertising mischief. Hail Saban!
