Wilshire Boulevard near the Miracle Mile was closed temporarily Monday morning following a bomb scare near the Israeli consulate, a frequent source of such reports, according to KNX 1070 Newsradio and the Los Angeles Police Department. The scene was cleared shortly after noon when police declared the area was safe.

According to the LAPD, a bomb squad had checked out a two unattended suitcases in the 6400 block of Wilshire. The consulate is at 6380 Wilshire and frequently enjoys a black-and-white LAPD cruiser parked out front, apparently as a security precaution. The street had been closed between San Vicente Boulevard and Crescent Heights Boulevard.
