Originally hailing from East Saint Louis/Washington Park, Illinois, Willie J is intimately privy to the harsh realities of life. From witnessing a man killed in his own yard as a child and losing one of his best friends when he was thirteen to facing years in the maximum penitentiary and dealing with the death of his mother, he’s overcome numerous odds and climbed his way out from rock bottom. 

Currently, Willie J brings to the table not only an impressive arsenal of skills but also an in-depth understanding of the pains and struggles that millions of individuals are contending with, and it is this awareness that stands at the core of his initiatives and fuels his drive to serve as a beacon of hope and a pillar of support for those who need a hand. His overarching goal is even evident in the way he’s led Pure Mission Entertainment, a record label dedicated to bringing hope through arts and entertainment. 

Years after first dipping his toes in the music scene, Willie J has now gained a foothold in an industry known for its cut-throat and competitive nature, snagging various achievements under his belt. Among the long list of accomplishments attached to his name is the massive success of his recent Valentine’s Day EP release Sunshine with the Rain Vol. 1. On top of gaining over 3.5 million streams on SoundCloud, the top-notch compilation has also earned over 1.3 million views on Instagram and graced a New York Times Square billboard. It featured the hit single “Sunshine With the Rain,” a track that offers solace to people in need of comfort. The song, which features his client Arthur Flash Johnson, hit The USTOP20 Radio Charts with Grammy winner Al Waser, a syndicated radio show based in Hollywood.

Additionally, the Pure Mission Entertainment founder succeeded in hogging the spotlight with the drop of “We Love You, Puerto Rico.” Featuring various artists, this song, which hit #2 on the European Top 200 music chart, acknowledges the tragedy that was Hurricane Maria. The song hit 3 million SoundCloud plays. Willie J also rose through the ranks with the recent release of “In the Morning,” a COVID-19 anthem that captured the interest of listeners worldwide for its timely message. The song hit 8.1 million SoundCloud streams. 

Willie J thit he number 1 spot in both The New York Weekly Top 10 Fastest Growing Companies in 2021 and The US Reporter Top 10 Instagram Accounts. He was also featured in Forbes Magazine NYC Edition and Forbes People (Luxury) Magazine. He was even featured in YAHOO! Top 10 Influential African Americans in 2021 featured with ICE CUBE.

His sister production company, MuzicDoctorz, did most of the EP production with the film score movie credits Waist Deep and Johnson Family Vacation.

Despite the milestones he’s reached so far, Willie J shows no sign of slowing down.
