25-Year-Old William Romero Dies after Being Hit by Car on Taft Highway

BAKERSFIELD, CA (September 3, 2021) William Romero, 25, of Bakersfield tragically died Tuesday night after a pedestrian collision on Taft Highway.

The accident happened around 8:45 p.m. August 31. Police responded in the 5400 block of Taft Highway after receiving a report of a man on the north shoulder of the road.

Unfortunately, responding crews declared Romero dead at the scene. Although at this time, the events leading up to the crash are still unknown.

On the other hand, the driver remained and cooperated with the authorities.

Drugs and alcohol are not thought to have played a role in the crash, however, the cause of the collision is still being investigated.
