As the Lakers face the Oklahoma City Thunder in game six of the the playoff series Friday night, ESPN reports that this might be coach Phil Jackson's last season with Forbes' sports “franchise of the decade.”

At issue is the team's desire not to pay him his current rate of $12 million a year. Jackson had said previously that he would likely return only if the Lakers win the championship this year. Is this just a prelude to salary negotiations, or is Jackson really hitting the road? Jeanie Buss, the team co-owner's daughter, Jackson's girlfriend and the team's vice president, had this to say:

“I know Phil will be coaching next year, somewhere. Whether it's here or someplace else I don't know. There's going to be a lot of good jobs that come up this summer.”
