It's staggering to look at Garry Marshall's credits as a writer, director, producer: The Odd Couple, Happy Days, Laverne & Shirley, Mork & Mindy, The Flamingo Kid, Beaches, Pretty Woman and The Princess Diaries. And on and on. He's also never lost that great Bronx accent (remember “Santee Claws” from Lost in America?) That voice will undoubtedly add to the experience when he reads from his recent My Happy Days in Hollywood: A Memoir at Vicki Abelson's “Women Who Write” series for women. Whether he tells about his stickball-playing days in the Bronx or shares tales from the Happy Days set, he'll definitely bring those tales to life. It's an intimate affair at the host's home, which means you'll be as up close and personal with a living legend. Also reading is Mitch Weissman, the original fake Paul from Beatlemania. Address given with resv. ; Thurs., Jan. 3, 11 a.m.; $20. RSVP (women only, please): vickiabelson@gmail.com .
