Admit it: After years of consuming the glory of those thin, gray beef patties and fried chicken–flavored-substance nuggets, the thing you really, really hoped for was that McDonald's would begin to offer a steak-like object as part of its meat-like lineup. Well, you're in luck! Bloomburg reports that McDonald's has started offering steak. For breakfast.

At around 9,600 of the company's stores — about two-thirds of its U.S. locations — you can add a “thick, juicy” steak to any breakfast sandwich, meaning you can have this bad boy on a muffin, bagel or biscuit. It will cost more than a sausage, though.

This isn't the only new item McDonald's is pushing, though it certainly does seem to be the one with the most potential for disappointment. On Monday, the company announced it was rolling out chicken wings. And it also was reported on Monday that it would be introducing a $14.99 bundled meal called a “Blitz Box,” which, according to USA Today, would include two Quarter Pounders with cheese, two medium fries and 10 McNuggets. That's almost 3,000 calories, for anyone keeping track at home.

If all of this seems a little desperate, that's because it is. The company isn't growing fast enough (basically because it's so big that it has nowhere to grow), so it's hoping items with higher prices (like steak) will bring in more revenue.

McDonald's obviously going in the wrong direction, though. Everyone knows that outrageous stoner food is the way to go. McDonald's steak sandwich on a cronut, anyone?
