Well, not so fast, apparently. For, as freaky as we think we are, Americans tend to be, at least after looking at the results of one survey, fairly white bread in bed.
Adam & Eve (NSFW), retailer of fine adult products and maker of adult videos shot right here in L.A., recently released the results of its latest sex survey.

Missionary. Doggy style got a 23 percent vote, followed by cowgirl (22 percent), 69 (7 percent), spooning (6 percent), reverse cowgirl (4 percent), and our personal favorite, “other” (3 percent).
Adam & Eve surveyed 1,000 random Americans aged 18 and up.
The results got a little more interesting, however, when the company looked at its own Facebook fans (NSFW):
For these degenerates, doggy was number one, with 53 percent of the people backing this position. Next up was cowgirl (29 percent), followed by reverse cowgirl, (6 percent), and other and missionary (both at 6 percent).

It's interesting that while Adam & Eve customers may be a bit more adventurous when it comes to sexual matters, the average American still seems to prefer face-to-face intimacy. Both of the top choices (missionary and rear entry) allow for more male control while the second choice (cowgirl), puts the woman in control. I believe there's some give and take there.
