Where the Chefs Eat is an ongoing series in which we ask a local chef to give us his or her favorite dining options. This week, Alain Giraud, chef and owner of Maison Giraud, tells us his favorite spot to eat (when he has time) these days.

Alain Giraud doesn't eat out much these days. “For the last year, getting my restaurant open, I don't have too much time to eat out,” he says. “But we do go out, especially when the kids are home from college. We used to eat a lot of Korean.

“But lately, we've been eating Thai food. One place that we've found that's very nice is Si Laa on Robertson. It's very authentic. The spices and flavors are very clean. It's run by this whole family, the mom, the son, the grandma.”

When asked about a favorite dish, Giraud chuckles. “I don't know,” he says. “I eat everything!”

Si Laa Thai: 1128 S. Robertson Blvd., Los Angeles.
