Amid charges of carpetbagging in the Los Angeles City Council District 2 race, comes word in the L.A. Times that the L.A. District Attorney's office has searched two homes belonging to State Senator Roderick Wright.

“David Demerjian, who heads the D.A.'s Public Integrity Division,” the Times says, disclosed “that investigators searched two homes early Wednesday morning, but he would not divulge the addresses. One of the homes is in Wright's 25th Senate District and the other is in the neighboring 26th District.”

The last time something of this embarrassing magnitude occurred was two years ago, when Times writers Jack Leonard and Matt Lait revealed that County Supervisor Yvonne B. Burke only maintained a Potemkin home in her mostly South L.A. district, while she actually lived in Brentwood.
