There are roughly 187,000 American “Leaplings” born on February 29 who only get to celebrate their real birth date every four years. Here’s a list of deals throughout Los Angeles for those lucky ones to celebrate Leap Year 2020.

Farmer Boys at 726 S. Alameda in DTLA is making this year special by hosting a Leapling Birthday Breakfast to indulge in hot cakes, French toast, omelets and pancake-stack cakes with candles on the balloon-festooned outdoor patio from 8-9:30 a.m. Leaplings can enjoy a free Big Cheeseburger all day Saturday at participating Farmer Boys locations.

In honor of the 2020 leap year, cult-favorite ice cream brand Van Leeuwen has dubbed Saturday “The Day that Doesn’t Count.” All scoop shops will be upgrading a single scoop order to a double all day long. To enjoy the cool upgrade, simply whisper the secret words “cheat day” to your scooper. You can choose to get a scoop of the same flavor, or mix and match.

The Leap Year ( AC Hotel Los Angeles South Bay)

In honor of this once-every-four-years-holiday, AC Hotel Los Angeles South Bay put together a special Leap Year-inspired cocktail and deal for leap day babies, with proof of date of birth. The Leap Year drink is available to non-leap-year-babies as well for $10. This sweet deal is served at Flora, the hotel’s rooftop bar as well as in the AC Lounge.

In celebration of the Leap Day babies of the world, those born on February 29 receive a free drink of choice with valid ID at  Fairgrounds Coffee & Tea’s .
