In celebration of Hawaiian Foods Week, Slaters 50/50 in Hermosa Beach is hosting the ultimate beachfront Hawaiian luau and an epic professional burger-eating competition starring Spam!
The festivities will include live Haka dance performances, a prize wheel, complimentary samples of the new King’s Luau Burger, and the main event: two competitive eaters going head-to-head to see who can be the first to finish the massive Big Island Feast Burger.
The monster burger, a new addition to the Slater’s menu, is designed for four to six hungry guests and piled high with a 2-and-a-half-pound beef and bacon patty, an entire can of Spam, a quart of coleslaw, six slices of pineapple, six slices of cheese and four fried eggs sandwiched between a whole loaf of King’s Hawaiian bread.

Saturday is the day to be gay in Santa Monica with the first ever SaMo Pride Bar Crawl starting on the Santa Monica Pier at the Pier 360 Paddle Board Races Beer Garden and ends at the official after party at 1212 Santa Monica, aka “Club LOVE.”
Bring out your glitter and fill the streets and the beach town’s bars with rainbows and unicorns to raise money for LA LGBT Center. The first 50 guests get complimentary Kona Beer or White Claw, courtesy of Santa Monica Pier, so get there early and start off right!
Also in Santa Monica this weekend is Main Street’s annual Summer SOULstice block party. Enjoy a day of food, live music, and fun for the whole family. General admission is free, use code SPINVIP for $15 off VIP admission

Now celebrating its eighth year, Art Beyond the Glass VIII takes place at Los Globos in Silver Lake. The cocktail culture festival will feature more than 100 top bartenders making cocktails and showcasing their artistry, from painting and sculpture to photography, live music and more, all while raising funds for Beautify Earth.
Hosted by Ria Soler and Josh Gelfand, ABTG VIII is taking place at Los Globos which is graciously being donated to ABTG for the third consecutive year. The landmark nightclub is located on Sunset Boulevard in the heart of Silver Lake. Opened as L.A.’s first American Legion hall in the 1930s, Los Globos is a massive two-story venue with multiple rooms and state-of-the-art sound and lighting.
Just a few of the participating bartending artists include Adam George from The Nomad, Aly Iwamoto/Bavel, Bryan Tetorakis /The Varnish, China Morbosa /Eveleigh, Harry Chin/Here’s Looking at You, Jason Yu /Songbird Café, Max Reis/Gracias Madre, Ryan Silva/Otium and Tobin Shea of Redbird.

The new Sirocco Mediterranean restaurant opened this week at the Luxe Sunset with a menu created by executive chef Olivier Rousselle. It includes herb roasted rack of lamb with mascarpone polenta cake, rainbow swiss chard, and port jus; and shellfish bouillabaisse with tiger prawn, scallop, clam, and branzino in a fennel, saffron broth with garlic rouille tartine.
The restaurant is serving Sunday brunch featuring bottomless mimosas and Bloody Marys to complement French crêpes, an omelet station, and antipasto selections in an intimate indoor space that seats 70 as well as an airy outdoor patio which features a waterfall.

You now have the chance to get a taste of space without having to leave planet Earth. The Pie Hole has partnered with the Apollo 11: The Immersive Live Show (a live show highlighting the story of the moon landing on stage in the Lunar Dome at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena) celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing. In honor of this collaboration, The Pie Hole has created a space-themed pie hole.
APOLLO 11 Pie Holes are filled with blueberry jam and topped with blue/teal/violet/pink and white lemon icing with edible stars and silver dust. Priced at $1.75/each ($2.00 at the Hollywood location) they should be a hit for junior astronauts at summer school camps and science classes, field trips and picnics at the Griffith Park Observatory or NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
Performances for the Apollo 11: The Immersive Live Show begin July 5, but you can pick up the APOLLO 11 Pie Holes at all eight Pie Hole locations across Southern California starting Monday. APOLLO 11 Pie Holes are available online for pick-up or delivery through Postmates, Uber Eats, Grubhub or Doordash.
