Nothing is a more fun cultural zeitgeist indicator than what folks wear for Halloween. And, of course, musical personalities are prime fodder. So here are our predictions for what will be the most common music costumes this year.

Of course, despite the fact that we specifically cautioned you against “Slutoween,” we know some of you believe sluttiness is the holiday's true essence, so we've added some tips to help you along.

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez

Why this costume will be popular: The Biebs and his babe are pop's current golden couple. They're adorable, and ridiculous.

What You'll Need:

*Just remember: the male in your couple has got to be Selena, and the female has got to be Justin

*Justin wig

*Oversize tee, jeans and flashy kicks

*One understated piece of bling

*The boyfriend's drag: dark wig, hoop earrings and sparkly gown

How To Make It Slutty: Show some Bieber

Why this costume will be popular: Because this Soulja Boy-affiliated white L.A. rapper has more bling than a gold prospector.

What you'll need:

  • Not a shirt
  • A bunch of temporary or drawn-on tattoos of the BET, NBA and MTV logos
  • Jack-o-lantern bling (no made-at-the-mall shit)
  • An extravagant gold watch
  • Some fresh piggly wigglys
  • Ridiculous neon oversized glasses
  • A ballpoint pen, to draw on zig-zagging facial hair
  • Cornrows
  • Grillz

How to make it slutty: Appear on an MTV reality show.

Why this costume will be popular: The pint-sized rapper has been one of the year's most hyped and controversial artists, taking L.A. and the Internet by storm with “Gucci Gucci” and her White Girl Mob. She even has her own video game. Love her or hate her, there's no denying girl's got style — who doesn't want an excuse to rock Minnie Mouse ears and a bedazzled Glock?

What you'll need:

  • Liquid eyeliner
  • A nose ring
  • A crop top and baggy jeans
  • A sick gold chain
  • Doorknocker earrings
  • Throwback/hipster glasses
  • A toy gun, covered in jewels and Hello Kitty stickers
  • Swag

Skrillex

Why this costume will be popular: Because, as we noted in last week's cover story, the L.A. DJ and producer is the boy king of electronic dance music. And because there's a bastion of teenage girls who look like Skrillex.

What you'll need:

  • If you have long hair, shave half your head. There's no getting around it. If you have short hair, invest in a weave
  • Black hair dye
  • Sabre glasses or sunglasses, though a pair of those cheap “nerd” glasses will suffice
  • Gauged earrings
  • A grey plaid shirt
  • A black leather jacket
  • For extra accuracy points, throw in a couple lip rings, a pack of Newports and a white sweatband

How to make it slutty: Let your Serato hang out.

Why this costume will be popular: You'd think Sasha Fierce was the first female to ever be expecting a bey-bey, what with all the bump reports and conspiracy theories on its authenticity. She invited it much of it, of course, with that cheesy VMA reveal. Gotta say, its size has seemed to vary in different pictures.

What you'll need:

*Auburn-blonde wig

*Golden hued tanner if you're white

*A one shoulder orange dress, sparkly suit like she wore on stage or pink dress as seen on the controversial Austrailian TV appearance

*A balloon on your belly that you can inflate and deflate at will in an obvious way

How To Make It Slutty: Reenact conception.

law logo2x bLady Gaga

Why this costume will be popular: Last year, we saw Gagas gaggles everywhere in bubble dresses, crime scene tape bikinis, blonde wigs and of course, meat. Her new album this year Born This Way offers opportunities for even more guises: weird face protrusions, skeleton girls in a suits and ponytails, aquamarine hair, mermaid tails. Still, the most unique option for Gaga wannabes has to be her male alter ego Mr. Joe Calderone — basically Danny Zuko from Grease with a 5 o'clock shadow.

What you'll need:

*A black suit

*White t-shirt

*Slicked back hair (black temporary dye if your hair is light)

*Eyebrow pencil for the facial hair.

*Cigarettes

*A prosthetic nose

How to make it slutty: Chest hair.
