Only the good rappers are dead. Biggie? Dead. Tupac? Dead. Vanilla Ice? Still alive. We'll have to agree with Chris Rock, who once said that “If you wanna get away with murder, all you gotta do is shoot someone in the head and put a demo tape in their pocket.” If you're a conspiracy theorist, however, and believe that Shakur is lurking somewhere out there with Elvis, Amelia Earhart and Jimmy Hoffa, you'll be glad to see the rapper resurface in 2Pac: The Musical! Featuring such Tupac hits as “California Love,” “Me Against the World,” “Changes” and “Brenda's Got a Baby,” the parody, written by Kevin DeBacker and Evan Greenspoon, revolves around four characters (DeBacker, Greenspoon, Corey Johnson and Laura Zeis) set in an Indiana mall food court. And nothing tugs at Middle America's heartstrings like a song about teenage pregnancy. Upright Citizens Brigade Theater, 5919 Franklin Ave., Hlywd.; Wed., Aug. 25, 8 p.m.; $5. (323) 908-8702.
