A student was stabbed at the Miguel Contreras Learning Complex, Wednesday, leading to a campus lockdown.

Los Angeles Campus Police said it responded to a call for an assault with a deadly weapon, identifying a suspect and taking them into custody.

The student who was stabbed was taken to a local hospital and is said to be in stable condition.

The school went into lockdown, with school police asking parents to stay away from the campus. After conducting a “sweep,” the lockdown was lifted, with students staying later than their typical dismissal time.

The suspect was described as Hispanic by police, and it is believed that an altercation may have occurred days before today’s incident.
