The area, also known as La Cienega Heights, is home to the Playboy Gangster Crips gang and has seen many shootings in the past.

The organization's enemies include the Shorline Crips in Venice and the Mansfield Crips just to the east, in Mid-City.

The attack was first reported by Venice 311.

We were told by a source that police believe the violence was indeed gang-related.
