78-Year-Old Pedestrian Killed in Deadly Collision near Dobern Avenue

SAN JOSE, CA (February 17, 2023) – Monday morning, Weishan Xu was killed in a pedestrian crash on South Jackson Avenue. The incident happened just after 7:00 a.m., February 6th, on South Jackson Avenue at the on-ramp just north of Dobern Avenue. Investigation showed that a 2011 Toyota sedan driven by a female driver was traveling north on Jackson Avenue. In addition, the driver attempted to make a left turn and struck 78-year-old Xu in a crosswalk. Furthermore, Xu suffered serious injuries and was transported to the hospital by responding officers and paramedics. Unfortunately, Xu succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. At this time, no citations or arrests have been made against the driver.
