Fresh off a full-moon high, it's going to be another wild summer weekend in Los Angeles.

It's also going to be jam packed with the antithesis of party people, cops, on the hunt for drunk drivers. For whatever reason, there seem to be a lot of DUI operations throughout Greater Los Angeles planned for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. There's even a crackdown on Monday (see details below).

Under state law police have to give you notice about checkpoints. But the Los Angeles Police Department also says that broadcasting information about its anti-drunk driver crackdowns could save lives by dissuading you from getting behind the wheel after one too many.
