Where to put the quotation marks? Tonight a pair of “lit” events (or should it go, 'lit “events”'?) emphasize two very different meanings of bad behavior.

Comic Kathy Griffin has evolved over the years from a Groundlings improv cutup to the Bob Woodward of show business gossip-standup. Her new tell-all is cheekily titled, Official Book Club Selection: A Memoir According to Kathy Griffin, and looks at life as a D-List celebrity and gay icon. The Vroman's Web site makes clear the evening's restrictions: This is a ticketed signing only, with only store purchasers of the book allowed in line (two-book maximum!) and no photographs permitted. (OMG — she's become what she mocked!) Vroman's, 695 E. Colorado Blvd.,

Meanwhile, former LAPD homicide detective Steve Hodel, who published a controversial 2003 book claiming his late father was the Black Dahlia murderer, has a new one out with Ralph PelluzzoMost Evil: The Further Serial Murders of Dr. George Hodel picks up, as its title suggests, where Hodel's first Daddy Dearest left off. The new book, packed with the authors' research, speculates that Hodel's father was a rapacious serial killer possibly responsible for dozens of murders in Los Angeles. Book Soup,
