Giving year-round is an amazing thing to do to help those who are in need. My family and I love to give back, especially around the holiday season, to bless those whose Christmas season may look different. So many people need love and care and there are many organizations and fundraisers to support them. I encourage everyone to give to others this holiday season to bless those around us. Some great organizations to donate to are Toys for Tots, Make-A-Wish, The Salvation Army, and Help the Children. These organizations can be found worldwide but there are also great places to give to locally here in L.A.

Baby2Baby is an organization that provides children from 0-12 who are living in poverty with necessities such as diapers, wipes, formula, and hygiene items. They are located in Culver City, and you can volunteer, donate items, or even sponsor a child.

The Los Angeles Regional Food Bank is another great place to give back to. The organization is just south of Downtown and collects food and other products and distributes them to children, families, seniors, and others who are in need. They have been able to provide Los Angeles with one billion meals! They accept online donations as well as large-scale food donations from distributors and food companies.

Downtown Women’s Center is another great organization in Los Angeles that focuses on serving women who are experiencing homelessness or were formerly homeless. You can do financial donations, gift cards to downtown grocery stores, Clean Home Kits, and snack packs. You can mail the items or schedule a contactless delivery.

There are also other ways to give back that don’t require materialistic things. Checking in on family and friends, being intentional, giving up your time to be there for someone who is going through a hard time, listening to others, giving advice, and other small things to love those around you. The holidays are such a great time to spend time with family and friends and love and care for everyone.
