Bill Esparza is going from Street Gourmet to host of the Street Eats: USA Los Angeles episode this Saturday, March 23, at 3 p.m. He announced the news earlier this morning on his blog. While it's not the first time Esparza has appeared on Travel Channel, it will still be a first of sorts for the musician turned food and travel guide: “Up until now I've been a good Robin, to a range of Batmen — Zimmern is Batman, Dark Knight Edition — but, now I can truly say–'I'm Batman.'”

Currently covering L.A. eats for Los Angeles magazine, Esparza has also advised Squid Ink and Stick a Fork in It readers on Baja food and drink. He has guided Anthony Bourdain and Andrew Zimmern in their travels to Mexico. He has even inspired our web editor Ali Trachta to go on a tour of her own.

Slated for Saturday, viewers will go on a tour of street eats through various parts of L.A. from east to south, S.G.V. to Hollywood. According to Esparza, he will be showing “street food from all over the spectrum of L.A.'s amazing international cultures.” The episode was taped over the course of two days; it is one among the series hosted by locals.
