One of the sickest hit-and-runs to get captured on video (after the jump) was distributed by Buena Park police this week in hopes that someone will recognize the car involved.
Cops say the 20-year-old victim was crossing Campus Drive at Orangethorpe Avenue near Buena Park High School when a car plowed into him at full speed, causing the victim to become airborne and flip over.
It happened …
… Sunday at about 1:03 p.m., according to a statement from Buena Park police: The victim, who was not identified, was taken to UCI Medical Center with “non-life-threatening injuries.”
Cops think the hit was intentional:
The preliminary investigation indicated the incident may have been intentional. This is based on witness statements as well as dramatic video footage captured by a nearby surveillance camera. The vehicle is described as a gold colored four door, possible Mitsubishi Galant, with tinted windows.
Fox 11 News reported that the car actually had to go around another vehicle in order to hit the guy: His brother was walking with him and attempted to chase down the driver.
Cops say a man and woman were in the car.
