Want to go to culinary school but don't have the tens of thousands of dollars it takes to pay for it? (Making consommé and Boeuf Bourguignon is much less fun when you're doing it from inside Sallie Mae's debtor's prison.) The Culinary Trust is accepting applications for scholarships for the 2010-2011 academic year, now through March 1st. The Culinary Trust is the non-profit philanthropic partner of the International Association of Culinary Professionals (IACP), a worldwide forum for the development and exchange of information, knowledge, and inspiration within the professional food and beverage community. The IACP has nearly 3,000 members from more than 32 countries. Past and present members include Julia Child, Anne Willan, Rick Bayless, Shirley O. Corriher, Lynne Rossetto Kasper and Jacques Pépin. Applications must be postmarked by March 1st. To download the application, visit the Culinary Trust's website.
