Moped Rider Fatally Struck in DUI Crash on Rogers Street in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS, NV (June 18, 2021) – 58-year-old Walter Anderson died Saturday night after a DUI collision on Russell Road and Rogers Street.

The fatal crash happened around 11:50 p.m. June 5, at the intersection of Russell Road and Rogers Street.

As per reports, Andrew Rodriguez, 32, was driving a 2017 Lamborghini Huracan at 140 mph when he struck the back of the moped while traveling west on Russell.

According to preliminary investigations, Rodriguez had been drinking prior to driving and accelerated his car at a high speed. Shortly after, he struck Anderson on his moped.

Officers arrived on the scene and pronounced Anderson dead, due to the impact of the collision.

Rodriguez was later arrested on suspicion of DUI causing death and reckless driving. However, he was later released after posting a $75,000 bond.

Further information about the crash was not immediately available. However, an active investigation is underway.
