Hey guys, did you know there's a renaissance of masculinity going on in L.A.? Well, there is, if Next Gent has anything to say about it. It's an online home base for forward-thinking, sophisticated men who seek self-improvement, and they'll help you walk the walk, literally, at their Moving Men's Group hikes in Griffith Park. These jaunts are about getting outside, sure. But they're also about finding a moment of clarity, formulating goals and, most of all, connecting with other like-minded men who will strive to make you accountable to them. (Ladies, sounds like we also should be psyched about this.) “We know that men are creatures of action,” says Dale Vaughn, founder of Next Gent and leader of the hikes. “We often do our best thinking — and therefore growing — when we are moving forward.” Potential discussion topics for this mobile meeting of the minds include brotherhood, fathers, fears, sex and relationships, finding purpose and living in balance. Hikers share as little or as much as they desire. The hike begins at noon and takes you up Mount Hollywood and back in two to three hours. Bring water and comfortable walking shoes.
