Food & Wine magazine's annual Best New Chef competition is up and running, and while in some ways it's just one more meaningless popularity contest aimed at garnering huge pageviews for the magazine's website, it will certainly help the chef who comes away with the title. (See Ricardo Zarate, who won in 2011, for proof.)

With that in mind, we urge you to get out the vote for the L.A. chefs being considered. Who's in the running?

Michael Voltaggio, of ink. See our review here.

Kris Yenbamroong of Night + Market. See Jonathan Gold's review here.

Jordan Khan of Red Medicine. See our 99 Essentials listing here.

Ari Taymor of Alma. See our review here.

Read up, then head over to the Best New Chefs page to cast your vote. Best of luck, chefs.
