26-Year-Old Woman Struck and Killed by Vehicle on Highway 99 in Fresno

FRESNO, CA (March 23, 2021)Virginia Quintana, was identified as the pedestrian struck and killed on Highway 99, Thursday evening on March 11.

The fatal crash happened around 7:00 p.m., on the No. 4 lane of southbound Highway 99.

According to reports, Quintana was struck by a Toyota Tundra driven by a 42-year-old driver. However, the events leading up to the crash remain unclear.

After the initial impact, Quintana was also run over by several other drivers. As a result, Quintana was declared dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, all of the involved drivers stopped and cooperated with the authorities. Police say the victim may have been homeless and lived along the highway.

Officers closed two of the four lanes for several hours following the incident. At this time, the CHP is still investigating the deadly crash to determine further details.
