Silver Lake’s female wine maker-only wine shop, Vinovore, will host a free block party on Saturday, October 12 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., to celebrate their two-year anniversary. Winemaker Amy Atwood, of Oeno wines, and Rachel DeAscentiis, of Say When, will be pouring for a special tasting. Serendoggity will provide organic hotdogs with beef, turkey and vegan options.

Attendees can participate in a $5 raffle to win a custom Beast Box, receive special discounts on select wines in the shop, and win a Wolfpack wine membership. On the block Barkeeper will offer a tasting, and Maeday will have dog & puppy adoptions.The specialty wine shop offers hand-chosen wines, gift boxes, and other fun items as well as  grab-and-go gourmet bites. With co-owners Coly Den Haan, a sommelier and wine pioneer, and developer Dean Harada, Vinovore  offers approachable, playful choices with a strong emphasis on female winemakers from all over the world.

Located in the heart of Virgil Village, Vinovore offers more than 100 wines  in a lively, inviting space. One of L.A.’s first female sommeliers, Den Haan opened downtown L.A.’s Perch and The Must, where she became known for her extensive wine lists and clever tasting notes and a range of price points.
