73-Year-Old Man Fatally Struck in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident near West Street

CLOVIS, NM (May 15, 2024)Vincent Galvan died late Monday night in a hit-and-run pedestrian crash on 7th and West Street.

Police officers responded to the scene around 11:15 p.m., on May 6th. According to reports, the driver of a vehicle struck Galvan and immediately fled the scene without rendering aid or contacting police.

The impact of the crash caused life-threatening injuries to the male pedestrian. Paramedics arrived and transported 73-year-old Galvan to Plains Regional Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries.

Officers say the suspect was last seen heading northbound on Hull Street.

At this time, an active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway.
