L.A. Observed reports on the imminent publication of an unauthorized biography of the legendary voice of the Dodgers, Vin Scully. “Unauthorized” may, in the course of celebrity events, conjure visions of gossip and scandal or, at least, of off-air profanity, but in straight-arrow Vin's case it simply reminds us that the great Scully has never wanted a book to be written about himself.

The book, Pull Up a Chair, is written by Curt Smith, who has authored several sportscasting books, including one about Yankee announcer Mel Allen.
