Local psych band Lemon Sun has been steadfastly churning out soulful rock 'n' roll since 2005, albeit mostly on stage.
Last year saw the five-piece self-release its debut LP, Run With the Faithless, a record that's been greeted with slow-growing praise.
And already, there's a new song to consider, plus a video to go with. Word is a signing is on the way, as is a collection mostly older songs called Preludes.
“Touch the Lightning” finds singer Rob Kolar channeling a bit of old school glam into a largely garage rock body, with some trippier flourishes thrown int for good measure.
The short that accompanies it is completely stop-motion, directed by Emily Wilder and featuring an extremely persistent suitcase with a strange surprise inside.
The band performs at The Echo Thursday, April 29, alongside Leopold and his Fiction.
