4-Year-Old Injured, One Woman Killed in Traffic Accident on Power Inn Road

SACRAMENTO, CA (June 9, 2022) – On Thursday, a vehicle crash on Elise Avenue claimed the life of Veronica Vargas and injured one other, police said.

The crash took place on Power Inn Road and Elsie Avenue where the suspect ran a red light after making unsafe lane changes.

Witnesses detained the suspect after trying to run away from the scene. Later, police identified the suspect named Kryn Michael Spear.

Meanwhile, one woman died and one child was injured after a pickup truck hit their vehicle.

According to authorities, 32-year-old Veronica Vargas died at the scene, and a 4-year-old girl suffered major injuries.

Spear was then treated at a nearby hospital before police transported him to Sacramento County Jail.

An active investigation into the crash is currently underway.
