23-Year-Old Mail Truck Driver and 2 Others Injured after Two-Vehicle Crash on State Route 33

MERCED, CA (December 6, 2021) Veronica Hurtado, Narbeh Nathan, and Gohar Azadkhanian all sustained injuries after a two-vehicle collision on Highway 33 Sunday afternoon.

The incident took place around 1:50 p.m., along Highway 33 and Husman Road. Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after.

As per reports, 36 year old Narbeh Nathan, was heading southbound on State Route 33. For reasons unknown, Nathan chose to make a left turn without stopping.

Additionally, he failed to yield the right of way to the mail truck. He then made a left turn in front of the truck, resulting in a collision. The impact ejected the postal truck before coming to a to rest on its right side.

Moreover, officers found Hurtado, a 23-year-old postal driver from Modesto, with serious injuries while Nathan and his female companion, 72-year-old Azadkhanian, both acquired moderate injuries.

Afterwards, paramedics took Azadkhanian and Hurtado to Memorial Medical Center for treatment.
