Cops have released a photo of a man they want to question in last month's stabbing of a man on the beach in Venice during Sunday “drum circle” festivities.

The LAPD calls the man both a “suspect” and “a person of interest” who “is wanted for questioning only.”

The attack on April 24 highlighted growing violence near the shoreline that included a shooting the week before and a series of fights in the once peaceful drum circle.

The stabbing put a man in a hospital in stable condition.

The person of interest/suspect was described as a mid- to late-20s Latino, 5 feet, 4 inches tall, maybe 150 pounds, and sporting a large tattoo on his back and a tribal tattoo on his upper right arm.

He was wearing a gold necklace with a cross and camo pants at the time of the attack.

The violence has led the LAPD to increase its numbers along the sand and boardwalk this spring.

Some have blamed the increase in violence on an influx of drifters and young transients from the Pacific Northwest.

Anyone with info on the guy was asked to call Pacific Homicide Det. Kim Riemen at 310-482-6343.
