The Gadarene Swine in Studio City might be the only place in town where you can find imaginative, veggie-driven creations like lemon and pistachio kale chips and roasted garlic and thyme popcorn — and it turns out this weekend will be your last chance to order them. The vegan restaurant from Top Chef alum Phillip Frankland Lee is closing for good on Saturday, according to an announcement from its PR company.

“We are incredibly grateful to all of the patrons who have embraced our plant-based restaurant and have supported us since we opened in September 2014,” Lee said in a statement. “We hope that everyone will come celebrate with our amazing staff this weekend as we complete our last few days of service.”

The decision to shutter the Gadarene Swine was attributed to a long-running dispute between Lee and his former business partner, which also led the two to close Scratch Bar in Beverly Hills almost exactly a year ago. Lee has since opened a new Encino iteration of the restaurant L.A. Weekly critic Besha Rodell described as inventive and boundary-pushing (though it also had some major issues at the time of her visit).

Though Lee has no plans to open another plant-focused restaurant, he'll be launching Oh Man! Ramen in Encino later this summer with executive chef Luke Reyes. And if you're hungry for a new favorite Valley restaurant in the meantime, check out some of Lee's recommendations
