As they experiment with various culinary concepts, such as LudoBites and the “Hatchi” guest chef program, BreadBar goes for a more health conscious vibe with this month's “Vegan Greetings.” The vegan event, starting tomorrow night from 6-10 p.m. at the Third Street location, will introduce recipes from author Kim Barnouin of “Skinny Bitch: The Cookbook,” (a follow up to “Skinny Bitch in the Kitch.”)

Chef Noriyuki Sugie and Barnouin collaborated to select recipes and will let restaurant-goers decide which ones make it into the finalized cookbook, to be released next November. As expected on a vegan menu, Skinny Bitch ingredients include tofu, an array of veggies, quinoa, soba noodles and brown rice. Tomorrow's dishes feature buckwheat and kale white bean soup, lentil tacos, Thai eggplant salad, and fried tofu with seaweed salad and white sesame sauce. Diners can choose from à la carte dishes priced at $8-$15, or a $25 four-course prix fixe menu. The event is scheduled to run through December 19, but Nori will extend the dinners through the end of the month if there is demand. And even if you're not skinny (and fewer and fewer of us are), you can still bring along your bitchy attitude.
