34-Year-Old Woman Killed, Four Injured in Auto Accident on Fred Waring Drive

INDIO, CA (July 15, 2022) – Friday night, a multi-vehicle collision on Hoover Avenue claimed the life of 34-year-old Vanity Lázaro.

The incident occurred around 6:00 p.m., near Hoover Avenue and Fred Waring Drive. Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after.

Circumstances leading up to the incident currently remain unclear. However, the fatal collision involved multiple vehicles.

According to reports, Indio Fire Department and Cal Fire had to extricate two people from the wreck. Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced Lázaro dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, medics rushed four other victims to a local hospital for treatment of various injuries.

Humberto Lázaro, Vanity Lázaro’s husband, was identified as one of the victims. He is reportedly in critical condition.

The surrounding area was closed for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. At this time, an active investigation is still underway.

Additionally, Lazaro’s family has set up a GoFundMe to support her funeral expenses.
