35-Year-Old Woman Pronounced Dead after SUV vs Semi-Truck Collision near 10th Street

LANCASTER, CA (May 16, 2024)Vanessa Vaughn died early Wednesday morning in a red-light crash on Avenue H and 10th Street.

Police officers responded to the scene at approximately 3:15 a.m. According to the initial investigation, the driver of a northbound Ford Expedition ran a red light on 10th Street.

This led to a collision with the passenger side of an eastbound tractor-trailer on Avenue H.

Emergency personnel responded and pronounced the Ford driver dead at the scene. The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner later identified the deceased driver as 35-year-old Vaughn.

It remains unclear if the tractor-trailer driver sustained any injuries from the crash. Authorities are investigating whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the incident.
