Maybe consider this consolation for you Canucks fans still grieving over the team's lack of a postseasonJapadog, the Japanese hot dog cart that started in Vancouver pre-Twitter (that would be in 2005), has officially arrived in Los Angeles.

For the uninitiated, these are terrific, hefty hot dogs topped with things like teriyaki sauce, mayonnaise and nori, or all things that make you readily believe in their mission statement (“Making the world happy and alive through hot dogs!”). They've grown considerably in popularity over the last few years, with several locations sprinkled throughout Vancouver. And now Los Angeles.

Japadog has been roaming around town since the beginning of the month; we caught it yesterday, parked at Pershing Square, serving its signature Japadog to a line of curious folks. Most of the menu is available, except for its hot dog with kurobuta pork, which staffers say will be coming soon.

This cart is just the beginning: According to its website, Japadog plans to roll out a few more locations in L.A. within the next year. As we are now in the post-Twitter age, you'll no doubt want to follow Japadog on Twitter and Facebook. If nothing else, to see where you'll be eating dinner tonight.
