55-Year-Old Woman Steals Ambulance Vehicle and Crashes into Several Vehicles on Thunderbird Road

PHOENIX, AZ (April 14, 2023) – Tuesday, Valerie Campbell was arrested after stealing an ambulance causing and a multi-vehicle accident.

The incident happened on April 11th, at around 4:00 p.m., near the intersection of Cave Creek Road and Thunderbird Road.

According to reports, paramedics first took 55-year-old Campbell to John C. Lincoln Hospital’s for a medical emergency. After arriving at the hospital, Campbell left through the front entrance, stole an ambulance and drove off. She got three miles away when she swerved into oncoming traffic and ended up crashing into a wall. At least five vehicles, including a U-Haul truck, was damaged in the incident.

Following the collision, one person involved in the crash was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Meanwhile, police arrested 55-year-old Valerie Campbell. As they put her in the back of the cruiser, she was able to escape handcuffs and attacked the arresting officer. The police were able to subdue her again and booked her to Maricopa County Jail with multiple charges.
