A USC student was found dead in an apartment near campus by his roommates, the LAPD says.

The discovery in the 1300 block of West 29th Street was reported about 9:30 Sunday night, LAPD Officer Rosario Herrera told the Weekly. Neon Tommy reported that the student might have returned home Saturday from a party before the discovery:

That would be bad news for a campus grappling with a party reputation and a recent ban on weeknight festivities at Greek houses and on campus.

The young man was found “not conscious and no breathing,” Herrera said.

The student was identified by USC Marshall School of Business Dean James G. Ellis as Thu Yain “Roy” Kyaw, a Singaporean sophomore enrolled in his program.

Herrera said no foul play was suspected and that the cause of death would be determined by the coroner's office.
