If you think the USC nude sex photo scandal was just one big put on — a show not only for the kids below the rooftop, but a viral event for the world to see — the man who snapped the photos says it ain't so.

Do we believe him? Not sure.

In a video interview with USC's Annenberg TV News in which his face isn't shown and his voice is obscured (in an almost villainous tone made-to-order for the sure-to-come mash-ups and remixes), the shooter says …

… We thought we had better document it as it was a pretty unbelievable thing. We wanted proof so people would actually believe it happened when we told them.

He says he uploaded the shots of the rooftop PDA session to Flickr for his friends to see, but that some one copied and distributed them:

It was just meant for people on our floor that weren't there and everyone wanted to see them up close … I didn't realise when something leaks to the internet how it can explode so quickly. I probably wouldn't do it again. It was really unbelievable.

The photog says as people gathered and watched one student feared for the pair's life as they did their thing close to the edge of the roof. Campus security was called, and that ended the show:

… One girl was afraid at one point and she was afraid because she was hanging off the roof,. They called DPS and that's how they got caught …

The performers included a Kappa Sigma man said to be 21-years-old and a woman from off-campus.

The man was kicked out of his fraternity — and USC administrators are considering disciplinary action.

The video interview of the photog is here. Let the remixes and mash-ups begin. And let us know if you spot one.
