Except tomorrow, when the school will ban tailgating for the first time in anyone's memory. You see, the home game against Arizona also represents a historic first: It's on a weeknight and not on a holiday, during a bowl game, or otherwise on a day when students are off. So …

… the campus will be packed with students who also need parking, and there will be fewer places to party.

So explained USC Athletics spokesman Tim Tessalone, who told us it was the first Thursday home match that wasn't on Thanksgiving or a bowl game. In fact, the last Thursday bout he could recall was 1925's Christmas Festival.

With a new television deal for Pac-12 conference games, “There's going to be occasion for weekday games,” he said.

USC isn't exactly a commuter campus, so its student population will be at full count, unlike on weekends. Tessalone:

This is new, uncharted territory for us. It's really a logistics issue with school in session. The lots are full, students are on campus. You really can't overload the campus. There would be nowhere for fans to park.
