Last year, L.A. had a Sriracha festival downtown, and people dug it. This year, that festival has spawned a twin: San Diego is getting its very own Sriracha festival. 

The 1st Annual San Diego Sriracha Festival will take place on Saturday, September 20 at Liberty Station. There will be drinks, and a DJ and a lot of Sriracha-based dishes. Including dessert. 

L.A. is also getting a repeat of last year's festival: The 2nd Annual Los Angeles Sriracha Festival will take place on Sunday, October 19 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Chinatown’s Central Plaza.

The San Diego festival costs $59 per person in advance, and $69 per person at the door. You can get a “Srirachaholic” pass to both festivals for $160, which is apparently a discount bundled price, but tickets for the L.A. fest aren't on sale yet so it's hard to know. 

But wait, there's more: Apparently there's also a Sriracha festival happening in San Jose over Labor Day weekend, but it has some kind of electronic dance component. Like, a Sriracha rave. Which seems like a really odd combination of things, and maybe not a great combination of things, as VICE points out. 

But maybe this is the beginning of a new movement, one in which you can traipse from one Sriracha festival to another all year round, dancing and drinking and snorting hot sauce. Sriracha: The new Grateful Dead.
