Flames caused $150,000 in damage to a Long Beach underground club, Long Beach fire authorities told us this week. They say it started … near the jacuzzi.

The blaze at Babe's Warehouse in Long Beach was originally reported to have caused $100,000 but Long Beach Fire Department spokesman Steve Yamamoto told the Weekly today it was more like 150.

The fire at 1517 W. Esther St. in LBC was reported …

… about 7:50 a.m. Monday. Yamamoto said firefighters had the thing out within four minutes of their arrival, but not before it did some decent damage (see photos).

The blaze appears to have started in a “recreation area” near a jacuzzi, he told us. (A club with a jacuzzi?). A car wash next door sustained a little damage and had its power temporarily knocked out during the fire, Yamamoto said.

The place appeared to book bands and DJs.

The cause was still under investigation.
