UCLA has been shaken by a number of sexual assaults in recent years. Just last month we reported that there were separate allegations of a peeping Tom and a man who touched a woman at a party.

Today UCLA police warned students that a fellow Bruin was attacked just off campus as she talked on her phone outside the Hotel Palomar at 10740 Wilshire Blvd.

According to statement from campus cops …
]
 … it happened about 9 p.m. Sunday:

 … an unknown male approached the victim from behind and forcefully grabbed and sexually battered her.

 This sounds to us like other grabby attacks on and near campus in recent years, but so far police have not reported any links.

“It's a distance from campus and not a typical place where students are,” UCLA police community services director Nancy Greenstein told us. “I don't think anyone has made a connection, but they'll certainly look at it.”

The victim in this case got a look at the suspect as he ran toward a car. She described it as a late-model silver sedan parked on nearby Selby Avenue, police said. The man drove off south on Selby, they said.

The attacker was described as a white man in his 30s, 5 feet, 10 or 11 inches, with an “average build” and spiky “dirty blonde” or brown hair, UCLA police said. He was wearing khaki pants and a blue or purple-striped long-sleeve dress shirt, cops said.

If you think you know who the creep is, call police at 310-825-1491.
