Authorities were searching for a third-year UCLA student who was reported missing Wednesday morning after she failed to return home after her morning jog.

Nancy Salas, 22, headed out from her home at 2202 Eleanore Drive in Glendale at 6:30 a.m., according to Glendale police Sgt. Tom Lorenz. Her jogs usually took one hour, but when she failed to return home loved ones notified authorities.

Late Thursday police, rangers, bloodhounds and a helicopter had taken part in a search of nearby Chevy Chase Canyon, Salas' usual stomping grounds.

“At this time, the Glendale Police Department is treating her unknown whereabouts as suspicious,” Lorenz stated. Salas “has no known family, personal, or boyfriend problems. Her keys, phone and car are at her residence.”

Salas measures 5 feet tall, has brown hair and eyes, and weighs 115 pounds. She was last seen wearing a yellow jacket over a white t-shirt with dark pants and white running shows.

Anyone with information about her was asked to call Glendale police at 818-548-4911.
